Our Principal
Mr. Jason X. Herrera, Principal
I began my career as a middle school PE coach in 1997. In 1999, I moved to Kennedy HS in Edgewood ISD where I taught social studies and AVID. In 2008, I began my administrative career as an AP at Kennedy HS. In 2013, I had the fortune of joining NEISD as an AP at Madison HS where I remained until joining Eisenhower MS in January of 2021.
My staff and I will work to make sure the students at Eisenhower will be safe, comfortable, and are provided with the quality education they deserve.
I look forward to a great school year and please reach out to us if you ever need anything.

Mrs. Samantha Canales, Assistant Principal
I’m Samantha Canales, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff of Eisenhower Middle School. Ike is a special community, and I truly enjoy getting to know our students, celebrating their successes, and helping them work through challenges along the way.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve as a reading teacher, special education teacher and coordinator, instructional coach, academic dean, and assistant principal. Each of these roles has shaped who I am as an educator and reinforced my belief that relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Students are more likely to thrive when they know the adults around them believe in them, care about them, and will continue to encourage them—even when things get difficult.
As a campus leader, I am passionate about creating a school where students feel safe, welcomed, and excited to learn. I also enjoy supporting teachers, developing future leaders, and partnering with families to help every student reach their full potential. I believe every child has unique strengths, and it is our responsibility to recognize those strengths and help them grow.
When I’m not at school, you can usually find me reading, fishing, hiking, or spending time with family and friends. I am proud to be part of the Eisenhower family and look forward to continuing to grow learners, grow leaders, and create new opportunities for every student.
